Lily & Aspen Photography Is Now Michelle Hardy Photography

There’s a new name around here.

Lily & Aspen Photography is becoming Michelle Hardy Photography.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this change because, in many ways, Lily & Aspen has been part of my story for a long time. I created the name when I was still finding my footing in the photography world. At the time, it represented the kind of work I was drawn to: romantic, natural, soft, and rooted in the beauty of everyday family life.

It fit the photographer I was becoming.

But photography has a funny way of changing you. The more people I photograph, the more I learn about how I want to create, how I want my clients to feel, and what kind of work I want to put into the world.

My work has grown with me.

These days, my sessions feel more intentional and modern. I’m drawn to beautiful light, thoughtful locations, movement, connection, and images that feel elevated without feeling disconnected from the people in them. I want your photographs to feel like your family, just seen through the very best version of my creative eye.

At the same time, my work has expanded beyond family photography. I’ve had the opportunity to photograph incredible seniors, create content for businesses and organizations, and photograph events through both photo and video. I’m continuing to make room for that work while keeping families at the heart of what I do.

And through all of those different kinds of projects, there has always been one constant: me.

That realization is what ultimately brought me here.

Putting my own name on my work feels vulnerable in a way I didn't expect. There was something comfortable about hiding behind a name I created years ago, especially when I was still figuring out who I was as a photographer.

Choosing Michelle Hardy Photography feels like stepping forward.

It feels like claiming the work I've spent years building and giving my clients a clearer connection to the person behind the camera. When you book a session with me, you aren't working with a faceless photography studio. You're working with Michelle. I’m the one answering your emails, helping you plan your session, photographing your family, choosing your images, and making sure the final gallery feels like something you'll want to keep forever.That part isn't changing.

The name is changing, but your experience with me will remain personal, warm, and intentional.

As I make this transition, you may notice Lily & Aspen Photography and Michelle Hardy Photography appearing in different places for a little while. There will be old galleries, emails, contracts, social posts, and pieces of the website that take some time to catch up.

If you see both names, you haven't wandered into the wrong place. It's still me, and your session is still in very good hands.

Most importantly, I want to say thank you.

To every family who has trusted me with photographs of the people you love most, thank you for allowing me into your lives. Some of you have been here since the early Lily & Aspen days, and I've had the privilege of watching your families grow in front of my camera. Others have found me more recently and have already become such an important part of this next chapter.

To the amazing seniors I've photographed, thank you for letting me create something with you during such a significant season of your life. You have brought so much energy and personality into my work, and photographing you has opened up a whole new creative space for me.

And to my family and friends who continue to cheer me on, share my work, send people my way, listen to me talk through ideas, and remind me to be brave enough to put myself out there: I wouldn't be here without you. So this is me, taking the next step.

The name may look different, but the person behind your camera hasn't gone anywhere. If anything, I feel more like myself in this work than I ever have.

Thank you for your patience while I make this transition. I'm incredibly excited about what this next chapter will bring, and I can't wait to photograph your family.
